Worship & Preaching

The root of the word worship is worth-shaping—worship is the heartbeat of congregational life and the place where we gather as a community to do meaning-making about that which has the utmost worth to us.

My preaching tends to be personal and story-based, drawing on contemporary and ancient sources of wisdom, poetry, and music. Crafting a worship service that weaves music throughout creates a richer experience of meaning-making, and I believe helps us to access parts inside of us that words sometimes cannot reach.

I love worshipping with all ages, and having opportunities for meaning-making and exploring themes during worship that is at times conversational, connecting, and playful.

Overall, I believe the best worship is co-created, participatory, and embodied. I love incorporating ritual into my worship leadership, and I strive to create a worship space that is reflective, thoughtful, playful, and offers multiple ways in to the shared work of making meaning and deepening our spiritual lives.
